All About The Pledge

If you're striving to be a world beater, or if you're into sport for the love of it - we all share a responsibility to compete with the rules - no exceptions.  By signing a Pledge, you can draw strength from the committment made by everyone else who has signed it.  One Nation as One Team.  A Pure Playing Field Nation.

Through the Pure Playing Field Nation and the Pledge, Drug Free Sport NZ wants to spread the drug free message throughout NZ sport and build a drug free culture at all sporting levels, from top performers through to beginners, their supporters, communities and families.

What exactly is Pure Playing Field Nation and the Pledge?

The Pure Playing Field Nation is the community made up of Kiwis who play and compete clean.  Thousands of Kiwi sports people, coaches and officials have gone a step further than this and signed the Pledge.  By signing to the Pledge this gives everyone the chance to support the stance of our top athletes to compete clean. They wear a green armband to show their commitment to the Pure Playing Field Nation and take this commitment seriously. Keep an eye out for the armband where you're competing.

When you sign the Pledge you can then identify yourself as a member of the same sporting community, with the values of hard work, fair play, honesty and commitment.  You are saying you're "Strong Enough to be Clean" and you to can wear the Drug Free Sport NZ green wristband.

For information on the sports anti-doping rules and the prohibited list refer to the Drug Free Sport NZ website.
